1.72L students appear in CBSE Class X, XII exams across state

Ajmer: Over 1.72 lakh students across Rajasthan appeared for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations that began Tuesday. While Class 10 students wrote the mathematics paper, Class 12 candidates appeared for optional subjects, including biotechnology, entrepreneurship and shorthand. The exam was held from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Ajmer regional head Shyam Kapoor said 1,300 schools participated this year, with 90,000 Class 10 and 82,000 Class 12 students registered. To curb high-tech cheating, CBSE deployed three-level flying squads that inspected centres across the state. Observers were posted at sensitive centres to monitor procedures. Entry to examination halls was barred after 10 am, and checks were conducted before students were allowed inside. Class 10 students described the mathematics paper as syllabus-based but moderately tough. “There was pressure as maths was the first paper, but now we feel relaxed,” said a student. Class 12 candidates termed their optional papers easy.
