The said bribe was taken as the first instalment in lieu of verifying the sterlisation needed for clearing the bills of Rs 70 lakh of a contractor whose company was assigned the task of sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs. DGP (ACB) Govind Gupta said the bureau received a complaint from a contractor awarded a tender for sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs. “After completing the assigned work, the complainant submitted bills of Rs 70 lakh. However, as per tender conditions, verification of each stray dog was mandatory before forwarding the bills for payment,” Gupta said. The complaint alleged that Sharma demanded Rs12 lakh to clear pending bills, while Kaloria sought Rs 2 lakh per month for Nov and Dec 2025, totalling Rs 4 lakh, and Rs 3.5 lakh per month from Jan 2026 onwards. “The total demand from both of them was Rs 15 lakh. After verification, we laid a trap and arrested Singh while accepting Rs 4 lakh,” said DIG (ACB) Anand Sharma. ACB teams later searched the residences of the two doctors to examine their movable and immovable assets. Further investigation is underway.

Jaipur: Exposing an alleged corruption racket in the sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Monday arrested a JMC computer operator while he was accepting Rs 4 lakh as bribe on behalf of two senior veterinary officers. The two doctors were later arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.The accused, Jitendra Singh, a contractual computer operator in JMC’s Animal Management Branch, was caught red-handed by the ACB’s Jaipur City-I unit during a trap. “He was allegedly receiving the bribe on behalf of Dr Yogesh Sharma, Veterinary Officer-II, and Dr Rakesh Kaloria, Veterinary Officer-I, posted in Jaipur,” an officer said.
