Jaipur: Two persons were killed and one injured after an oxygen cylinder exploded inside a factory in Vishwakarma Industrial (VKI) Area Saturday evening, blowing off the tin shed roof and collapsing a wall.DCP (west) Hanuman Prasad Meena said the blast occurred around 7.45pm at an oxygen facility. The explosion was so powerful that debris was flung across the premises, triggering panic in the densely packed industrial pocket.Meena said the deceased were identified as Munna Ray, a resident of Jharkhand, and factory manager Vinod Gupta (45), a resident of Murlipura in Jaipur. He said Shibu alias Anuva, also from Jharkhand, suffered injuries and was admitted to hospital.VKI station police with help of locals pulled the injured out of the damaged building. Fire brigade teams were also pressed into service to secure the area and prevent further mishaps.Meena said oxygen cylinders were being filled at the time of the accident when one of them exploded. “We have identified the factory’s owner, and we have his contact details too. The matter is being investigated to ascertain whether some negligence led to the incident,” said an officer.
