Jaipur: Rajasthan’s solar industry leaders Sunday took their clean-energy message to the streets through the Surya Saptami Rath Yatra, a nearly 250-year-old tradition, linking devotion to Lord Surya with sustainability and social responsibility.The annual procession, marking the divine birth festival of Lord Surya, moved through Chaura Rasta as the ceremonial chariot of the Sun God was taken out amid Vedic chants, Surya Puja rituals and devotional offerings.

The celebrations were led by Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA) President Sunil Bansal, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) President Raju Mangodiwala, and RSA CEO Nitin Agarwal. Industry representatives highlighted he Sun God as the eternal source of life, discipline and energy in Indian culture, drawing parallels with the present-day role of solar power as a cornerstone of clean, renewable and sustainable development.RSA said the event was designed to spread the message of devotion, service and sustainability.After the programme, RSA members offered prayers at the Sun Temple, expressing gratitude for Rajasthan’s achievements in solar energy and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the state’s position as a clean energy pioneer.The Rath Yatra drew devotees, traders, social organisations and energy-sector professionals, carrying a message of faith, tradition, energy awareness and social responsibility. RSA appealed to society to embrace clean energy, calling it a social responsibility that links environmental protection with cultural values and sustainable development.
