Jaipur: Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) commissioner Siddharth Mahajan Wednesday inspected key growth corridors along Mahal Road, Tonk Road and Knowledge City. He directed officials to examine a land pooling scheme in Zone-14 on Mahal Road to ensure planned expansion around Ramchandrapura–Vidhani and Greater Jagatpura. The commissioner instructed officials to intensify outreach to farmers and landowners who had not yet surrendered land required for development works. He observed that JDA-owned land was available in Zone-14, and land belonging to farmers or landowners was also available around it.The visit, conducted in line with the state govt’s push for planned and rapid urban development, included inspections of sector roads. Officials told Mahajan that in Zone-14 area, cases related to land of farmers and landowners on the sector road—the missing link connecting Mahal Road to Tonk Road via Saligrampura ROB—were pending in court. Regarding these pending cases, the zone deputy commissioner was instructed to present a strong case in court, ensure the speedy resolution of the matter, and make the land available for the sector road—in compliance with court orders.“A 300-metre section of the sector road is affected by this case, and its construction will be possible only when the matter is resolved, which will help reduce traffic congestion on other roads,” stated an official release.
