Jaipur: The Rajasthan assembly witnessed heated exchanges during Question Hour Friday after education minister Madan Dilawar admitted that several govt schools in the state are currently operating from temples due to the poor condition of buildings. He also admitted that 41,178 govt schools out of a total of 45,365 in the state required major repair work. The disclosure triggered a sharp attack from Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, who accused the govt of gross negligence and risking student lives.Raising the issue of crumbling school infrastructure, Jully said thousands of govt school buildings across the state were in a dangerous condition, forcing children to study in unsafe and unsuitable environments.
