36-yr-old land dispute case disposed at Lok Adalat in 10 minutes

Ajmer: During the National Lok Adalat held here Saturday, the Board of Revenue Rajasthan (BRR) successfully resolved two long-standing land dispute cases—one from Jhunjhunu dating back 36 years and another from Kota that remained unresolved for 31 years. The case from Jhunjhunu, involving Hanuman Prasad and Gori Shanker, had been a subject of contention since 1990. After nearly three decades of disputes, both parties reached a mutual agreement through pre-counselling facilitated by pre-counsellor Suresh Kumar Sindhi. The resolution process was expedited, taking just 10 minutes to finalise a compromise that satisfied both parties.Additionally, the Kota case, which involved a dispute between Vinod and Rameshwar from Deegod, had been pending since 1995. Similar to the Jhunjhunu case, it was resolved through mediation during the Lok Adalat sessions.Sindhi remarked on the enduring nature of disputes in these cases, noting that the litigations had spanned generations, involving not only the original parties but also their sons and grandsons. “After the mediation, a compromise was reached, and all parties decided to dispose of the cases by mutual understanding,” he said. The National Lok Adalat, held at the BRR, saw a remarkable success rate, with 44 out of 48 identified cases resolved. Celebrating the outcomes, the members, additional registrar, and Bar president honoured the litigants with garlands and extended their best wishes.
