Jaipur: The city police arrested three men Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a 26-year-old man to death with a screwdriver when a minor dispute turned into a chilling revenge under the Malpura Gate police station area of the city. The victim has been identified as Deendayal Bairwa (26), a native of Bhojpura in Phagi.The accused were identified as Harendra Singh Chauhan (26), Lala Singh (20) from Tonk, and Ganesh Prajapat (19) from Lucknow, currently residing in different rented accommodations in Mansarovar and Pratap Nagar. During interrogation, the trio admitted to the murder. Police said Bairwa had a heated exchange with a woman on the street. The woman called her husband, Chauhan, who then called in his friends. Within minutes, they tracked Bairwa down on July 27.“CCTV footage shows three men on a bike approaching from behind. One of them pulls out a screwdriver and stabs Bairwa in the back and neck. The assault lasted seconds. As he collapsed, the attackers fled,” an officer said.For several hours, Bairwa’s family had no idea what happened. He left home on the morning of July 26 on his bike to report to work. When he didn’t return even by the evening of July 27, his wife, who was preparing for competitive exams, called his in-laws. His phone was switched off since he left.The next morning, the family approached the Malpura Gate police to file a missing report. As they handed over his photo, they were told a body was already found lying on the road near the bus stand. Police said the victim sustained multiple sharp-force injuries. A post-mortem was conducted at Jaipuria Hospital, and the body was handed over to the family.Bairwa was living in a rented room behind Kohinoor Cinema in Sanganer with his wife for the past two years. Police said all three accused have criminal backgrounds and are being questioned for possible links to other assaults.
