Jhunjhunu: Police Tuesday arrested three accused, including the main suspect, for the murder of a man shot dead on April 3 in Ishakpura village under the Singhana police station area of Jhunjhunu district.Superintendent of Police Kavendra Singh Sagar said the accused were identified through technical evidence and CCTV footage and were arrested from the hills of Bhaisawata Kalan. The victim was identified as Mukesh alias Tinku, while the arrested men were identified as Vijay alias Mintu of Ishakpura, Somveer of Bhodan, and Ajit of Nanuwali Bawdi. According to the police investigation, Mukesh and the main accused Vijay had been at odds for nearly a year. The two sides had reportedly been involved in earlier physical clashes. Police said the dispute intensified recently due to objectionable remarks posted on social media, particularly through Instagram Reels. Police said Vijay is a habitual offender with seven criminal cases registered against him and had been released from jail around 20 days before the murder. Investigators believe that after his release, he conspired with his associates to kill Mukesh. On the day of the incident, Mukesh had gone to Ishakpura to meet friends. Police said the accused tracked his movements, intercepted him on a deserted road, and knocked down his motorcycle. Vijay then allegedly shot Mukesh in the chest at close range, killing him on the spot. The accused fled on a motorcycle after the attack. During the investigation, police carried out raids in Ishakpura, Doomoli, Patan, Neem Ka Thana and Sikar, and examined around 150 to 200 CCTV footages. After receiving information that the accused were hiding in the hills of Bhaisawata Kalan, the police’s district special team and local police launched a joint cordon operation and arrested all three.
