Jaipur: A 23-year-old man preparing for competitive exams was allegedly electrocuted by a streetlight pole in Bajaj Nagar Monday evening during heavy rainfall.SHO Bajaj Nagar Poonam Choudhary said the deceased, Vikas Vishnoi, was a resident of Rajiv Nagar in Sanchore and was living in Jaipur for the past five years to pursue his studies. Police said the incident occurred around 7pm near Kendriya Vidyalaya-1.She said that a patrolling team noticed Vishnoi lying unconscious in rainwater and rushed him to the hospital in a police vehicle.CCTV footage from the area, which surfaced Tuesday, shows Vikas standing near a light pole moments before collapsing into the water. Police suspect he was electrocuted by the pole.Police said identification was made after a friend of Vishnoi called on his mobile phone and helped police in contacting the family. tnn
