Jaipur: Police Monday conducted a statewide crackdown against organised crime across multiple districts, identifying 1,276 criminals linked to gangs involved in illegal arms possession, extortion and other criminal activities, and arresting 214 of them, officials said.The early-morning operation was carried across 19 districts, including the Jaipur and Jodhpur commissionerates, as part of a drive to dismantle networks of organised gangs, they said.DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma said the campaign targeted criminals linked to various gangs operating across the state.The operation was led by director general (Special Operations) Anand Shrivastava, while the plan was prepared under the supervision of additional director general of police Dinesh MN and deputy inspector general Yogesh Yadav.Police teams led by SP Gyan Chand Yadav, additional SPs Narottam Verma and Siddhant Sharma, and DSPs Phoolchand Telar and Bhanwar Lal carried out raids at the ground level.According to police, the identified criminals included 383 linked to the Rohit Godara and Lawrence gangs, 534 associated with local gangs, and 359 other wanted or reward-carrying offenders.During the operation, police registered 30 cases under the Arms Act and seized 17 pistols, 3 country-made pistols, 14 cartridges, 6 knives and 6 daggers.Officials said 214 accused were arrested, including 11 reward-carrying criminals, 157 warrant absconders and 46 other wanted persons.
