Kota: The final high-speed trial of the indigenously developed Vande Bharat Sleeper Train (Version–2) was successfully conducted Tuesday by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) in Kota division of West Central Railway. The trial was carried out on the Kota–Nagda section, where the train achieved a maximum speed of 180 kilometre per hour. During the trial, all prescribed technical parameters were thoroughly examined.The test focused on assessing the train’s stability, oscillation, vibrations, emergency braking system, safety mechanisms, and other critical technical aspects. The performance of the train at high speed was found to be satisfactory, and the trial was declared completely successful. Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, Janak Kumar Garg, Divisional Railway Manager Anil Kalra, and other senior divisional officers were present during the trial. Officials from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, Medha Servo Drives Limited, and Faiveley Transport Rail Technologies India Private Limited also participated in the testing process. The 16-coach sleeper rake used for the trial was designed with long-distance passenger travel in mind Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain said the successful completion of trial marked a significant technical milestone towards the forthcoming operation of the Vande Bharat sleeper train. He added that the achievement reflected Indian Railways’ commitment to self-reliance and the advancement of modern railway technology.
